4. Finance and other providers
When you request finance options, the live illustration and application journey is supplied by NewVehicle, a trading style of iVendi Limited. A lender or finance provider will provide its own privacy information when you continue with an application. Their handling of information within their service is governed by their own notice.
We may also share relevant information with service providers that host or maintain our website and systems, vehicle-information providers used for registration lookups, warranty or aftercare providers, professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, or a purchaser of the business where legally permitted. We share only what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
5. Where information is processed
Some suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an appropriate UK data-protection safeguard, such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual protections. Contact us if you would like more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiry, finance-lead, valuation-request, website-assistant question-and-answer and stock-interaction records are normally kept for no longer than 24 months after they are received or the last meaningful contact, unless you become a customer or a longer period is needed for a dispute, fraud prevention or a legal obligation. Transaction, accounting and regulated finance records may be retained for up to six years after the relevant relationship or transaction. Security logs are kept only for the period reasonably needed to investigate and protect the service.
When information is no longer required, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. Cookies and browser storage
The comparison tool stores up to three vehicle references in your browser’s local storage. This allows your shortlist to remain available as you move between pages. It is not sent to us as a customer enquiry and does not identify you. You can remove individual vans or use “Clear comparison” at any time.
The website assistant stores up to six recent question-and-answer pairs in your browser for two days so the conversation can continue across pages and later visits. Recent conversation is sent to our assistant service when you ask a follow-up question. You can remove the browser copy immediately using “Clear conversation”. Separately, each newly submitted question and its answer is stored as one database entry; we do not store the full conversation as a single transcript.
We also store your cookie preference for six months. Optional Google Analytics will remain disabled unless you actively accept it. See our cookie policy for the storage we use, its duration and how to change your choice.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, or transfer information you supplied. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis we use.
You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You have an absolute right to object to personal information being used for direct marketing.
There is normally no charge. We may need to confirm your identity and will respond within the period required by data-protection law. Email sales@diesels.co.uk to make a request.
9. Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator. Guidance and complaint routes are available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this page when the website, our providers or legal requirements change. The latest revision date appears near the top of the notice.
