Seven checks that matter more than shiny paint.
The right used van needs to suit the work, the load and the miles—not just the monthly budget. Use this practical shortlist before you commit.
- Define the job: daily load, passengers, access and typical journey.
- Check payload: include people, tools, racking and tow equipment.
- Review the history: servicing, MOT record and previous use.
- Inspect wear: tyres, brakes, load bay, doors and controls.
- Test it properly: start from cold and drive at mixed speeds.
- Price ownership: insurance, fuel, servicing and finance—not price alone.
- Ask about support: preparation, warranty and who answers after delivery.
